Why Calvinism Disrespects Gods Character.

Calvinism is a doctrine that says God predestinated (elected) some people for Heaven and others for Hell.

This idea was first started in the 16th century by a man named John Calvin.

If you would like to read more about the doctrine of Calvinism itself, you can find that here.

In todays post, I would like to show you how Calvinism Disrespects Gods Character.

If God did choose some for salvation, how is it just to hold people accountable for a destiny they never had the ability to change? Why should some people be in an eternal torment for something they could never change? This idea portrays God as unjust. The flip side of God electing people to heaven is that he is ok with letting others go to hell. Yet I find that contradicts 1 Peter 3:9

1  Peter 3:9 ... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

From this verse, either the Bible is wrong, or the Calvinist. God cannot pick who gets salvation if he does not want anyone to go to Hell. This concludes one way of Calvinism disrespects Gods Character.

Biblical grace invites. It is offered, received, and responded to. Calvinism replaces this with irresistible force—grace that cannot be refused, faith that is imposed, and a response that is automatic. That is not a gift; it is a mechanism.

I have heard people use the door illustration where we walk through the doors of Heaven and on the back of the door is a message from God saying, "I chose that."

If that is true, imagine how sad it is when others walk through the doors of Hell and God said, "I chose that."

I believe in a God that says in the book of John:

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

In this verse, Paul is talking to a group of saved people and telling them that God did no die for our sins (saved) but for the sins of the whole world.

I believe in a God that says in John 3:16:
For God so loved the world that whosoever...

A Choice Without the Ability to Say “No” Is Not a Choice!

God Pleading With Sinners Becomes Meaningless Under Calvinism.

Throughout Scripture, God does not speak to sinners like a distant architect watching a plan unfold. He pleads, warns, grieves, and laments. These are not the actions of a God merely revealing a predetermined outcome—they are the actions of a God genuinely responding to human choices.

Romans 10:13
Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Why would a perfectly loving and just God create people He has eternally decreed cannot respond to grace, only to punish them for that inability?”

And the answer is that he wouldn't. God will save anyone who asks him for salvation.

Today I'm thankful for a God that does not play favorites but died for the whole world.
