Football Talks (What the Eagles accomplished in 2025.)

From week 1 with Jalen Carter getting ejected for spitting, to an 11-6 record, it has been a crazy season for the birds. Today, I will be highlighting some parts of the Eagles drama-filled season.

On defense, players shined having once again a top 5 unit. Jalyx Hunt was a star having 6.5 sacks and 3 interceptions. Pro-Bowlers included Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper Dejean, Jalen Carter, and Zach Baun. Quinyon Mitchell has now become a top 3 corner in the league.

On offense, there was still much accomplished despite a terrible OC.

-Jalen Hurts had over 3,200 passing yards and over 30 touchdowns. He had only 6 interception and is still a top 10 in passer rating, passing Td's, interceptions, fantasy points, and completion percentage. He is also the only QB this year to produce a 158.3 passer rating in a game.

-AJ Brown and Devontae Smith both posted 1,000 yard campaigns.

-Cam Jurgens received a pro-bowl nod.

-Goedert set a franchise record of 11 receiving TD's.

-The Franchise under Hurts has still never missed the playoffs going on 5 years. The past 4 years in a  row has had 11+wins.

Below is every game of the season but ranked by me in the order of how much i enjoyed watching that game.

17— Loss 22‑19 at Chargers
In Week 14, the Eagles lost a close one on the road to the Los Angeles Chargers, 22‑19 in overtime. Philadelphia jumped out to a lead and kept it through much of regulation, but the Chargers tied it late and then won in OT. Hurts managed the game terribly with 4 interceptions and Jake Elliott hit multiple field goals, but the Eagles’ defense couldn’t make a key fourth‑quarter stop and overtime proved decisive. The loss dropped Philly to 8‑5 and marked their second straight defeat in tightly contested games.

16. — Loss 24–15 vs. Bears

Week 13 was a disappointing home result as the Eagles fell 24–15 to the Chicago Bears, dropping to 8–4. Philadelphia struggled offensively for much of the game, posting only one touchdown and a few field goals while the Bears controlled tempo with a steady run game and efficient passing. The Eagles’ defense made several stops but couldn’t generate enough turnovers or pressure to turn the tide. A late push fell short, and Chicago sealed the upset in front of the home crowd.

15— Loss 34–17 at Giants

Week 6 was a rough Thursday night in New York as the Eagles fell apart in the second half against the Giants, losing 34–17 and dropping to 4–2. Philadelphia actually led 17–13 late in the second quarter, but everything unraveled after halftime. Jalen Hurts finished 24-of-33 for 283 yards with one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown, and one costly interception. Dallas Goedert was the lone bright spot, hauling in 9 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Saquon Barkley was largely bottled up, managing just 58 rushing yards as the Eagles totaled under 75 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Eagles were gashed by the Giants’ run game, allowing over 170 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. New York scored 21 unanswered points in the second half, exposing Philadelphia’s inability to adjust and close games when momentum swings.

14.  — Loss 24‑17 vs. Commanders
For the final regular season game in Week 18, the Eagles elected to rest many starters because their playoff seeding was already set. Backup quarterback Tanner McKee started and Philly fell 24‑17 to the Washington Commanders. McKee threw a touchdown to Calcaterra and Tank Bigsby scored a rushing TD, but Washington outscored the Eagles late to secure the upset. The loss dropped Philadelphia to 11‑6, costing them a chance at the No. 2 NFC seed.

 13. -Loss 21-24 vs. Cowboys

In Week 12, Philadelphia faced the Dallas Cowboys on the road and lost 24–21, slipping to 8–3. The Eagles jumped out to a big lead, including two early touchdowns from Hurts (one passing to A.J. Brown and one on the ground). However, Dallas responded with a second‑half comeback, scoring 24 unanswered points to take the win. Turnovers and blown coverage late in the game proved costly, and the Cowboys’ balanced attack eventually overwhelmed Philadelphia’s defense.

12.  — Loss 21-17 vs. Broncos

In Week 5, the Eagles suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 21-17 at home to the Denver Broncos. Philadelphia led 17-3 entering the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold the advantage as Denver scored 18 unanswered points in a dramatic rally. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for solid yardage and two touchdowns but the Broncos defense and late offensive surge ultimately swung the outcome. A final Hurts Hail Mary attempt from Denver’s 29-yard line fell incomplete as time expired.

 11.  — Win 10–7 at Packers

In Week 10, Philadelphia traveled to Lambeau Field and picked up a defensive battle win, 10–7 over the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles’ offense struggled to find rhythm early, but a field goal by Jake Elliott and a 36‑yard touchdown catch by DeVonta Smith from Jalen Hurts provided the scoring edge. The defense was the story, holding Green Bay to just one touchdown and forcing critical stops in the red zone. Hurts finished with modest yardage but protected the ball, and the Eagles’ run game helped control possession in a grinding victory

10.  — Win 20-17 vs. Chiefs

In Week 2 the Eagles traveled to Arrowhead Stadium and picked up a hard-fought road win over the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-17. Philadelphia’s defense made the difference, with a key interception by Andrew Mukuba in the end zone late that helped preserve the lead. Hurts had a rough day passing, completing 15-of-22 for just 101 yards, but made his mark with a Tush Push rushing touchdown to extend the lead. On the ground, Saquon Barkley led the backs with 88 yards and a score while the Chiefs managed 17 points despite some big plays from Patrick Mahomes. The gritty win improved the Eagles to 2–0 to start the season

 9.  — Win 13‑12 at Bills

In Week 17, the Eagles escaped with a 13‑12 victory over the Buffalo Bills, one of the league’s tougher opponents. Philadelphia led 13‑0 at halftime and then leaned on its defense in the second half, forcing punts and limiting Josh Allen’s explosiveness. A crucial defensive stop late preserved the one‑point win, moving the Eagles to 11‑5 and solidifying their playoff positioning.

8.  — Win 31-25 at Buccaneers

Philadelphia remained undefeated in Week 4 with a 31-25 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, improving to 4–0. The Eagles jumped out to a huge 24-3 lead by halftime, highlighted by a blocked punt returned for a touchdown and efficient scoring drives. Jalen Hurts threw two touchdown passes to Dallas Goedert while Saquon Barkley contributed on the ground. Tampa Bay fought back behind big plays, including long touchdown passes, but the Eagles defense made key stops late — including an end-zone interception — sealing the victory.

7.  — Win 16–9 vs. Lions

Week 11 was another tough, low‑scoring affair, as the Eagles beat the Detroit Lions 16–9 at home. Philadelphia built an early lead with field goals and a short Hurts rushing touchdown. The defense limited Detroit’s offense, holding the Lions to only one touchdown and preventing late scoring drives. Hurts managed the game efficiently, and Saquon Barkley contributed key rushing yards that helped sustain clock control. The Eagles improved to 8–2 with this hard‑fought victory.

  6.  Win 24-20 vs. Dallas Cowboys

The start of the new season had dawned for the Super Bowl champs and expectation was a super bowl repeat.  The enemy being at that time a scary Cowboys team. The Eagles secured a victory. The game was narrowly won with Hurts running the ball for 62 yards and 83 percent of passes completed leaving Dotson the leading receiver with 59 yards. Barkley was limited to only 60 yards on a below 4 a run average. Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting at Dak Prescott making the defense vulnerable. Fans were worried about Adoree Jackson who gave over 100 yards away in coverage. The Cowboys almost won but lost due to many drops by CeeDee Lamb.

5.  — Win 29‑18 at Commanders
Philadelphia continued its momentum in Week 16 with a 29‑18 road victory over the Washington Commanders. The Eagles built a lead early, and though Washington chipped away, Philly’s balanced offense and opportunistic defense kept control. Jalen Hurts threw touchdown passes to multiple receivers, and the Eagles stretched  out a solid road win to improve to 10‑5 and clinch another NFC East title.

4.  — Win 28‑22 at Vikings

In Week 7 the Eagles snapped their two‑game skid with a 28‑22 road win over the Minnesota Vikings, improving to 5‑2 on the season. Jalen Hurts had arguably his best passing performance of the year, completing 19 of 23 attempts for 326 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, earning a perfect passer rating — just the third such game in franchise history. DeVonta Smith exploded for 9 catches, 183 receiving yards, and a touchdown, including a 79‑yard score, while A.J. Brown hauled in two scoring passes and made a crucial 45‑yard reception late to help ice the game. The Eagles jumped ahead early with a long opening drive and also benefited from a 42‑yard interception return for a touchdown by Jalyx Hunt. Saquon Barkley carried the ball 18 times for 44 yards, and the Eagles defense forced turnovers and stood firm late to hold off the Vikings’ comeback. Philadelphia outgained Minnesota in total yardage, though the Vikings held a slight edge in possession time.

3.  — Win 38‑20 vs. Giants

Week 8 saw the Eagles dominate the New York Giants at home, winning 38‑20 and moving to 6‑2 before their bye. Saquon Barkley was electric, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown and also catching a scoring pass; his 65‑yard touchdown run on the second play set the tone. Quarterback Jalen Hurts shook off any inconsistency with four passing touchdowns on 15‑of‑20 attempts for 179 yards, two of them to Dallas Goedert. Backup running back Tank Bigsby contributed 104 rushing yards, making it a balanced offensive showing. Defensively, Philadelphia recorded a season‑high five sacks while limiting the Giants to 246 total yards. The Eagles controlled time of possession and kept the Giants’ offense from sustaining big drives, turning a halftime lead into a comfortable win in front of the home crowd.

2.  — Win 33-26 vs. Rams

Week 3 featured a dramatic comeback at **Lincoln Financial Field as the Eagles edged the Los Angeles Rams 33-26. After falling behind 26-7 in the third quarter, Philly scored 26 unanswered points in a furious rally. Jalen Hurts finished with 21-of-32 passing for 226 yards and three total touchdowns, and the Eagles defense made a huge play when Jordan Davis blocked a potential game-winning Rams field goal as time expired and returned it for the decisive touchdown. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were key targets in the comeback, and Saquon Barkley chipped in with tough yards despite the Rams’ focus on limiting him. The win put the Eagles 3–0 on the young season

1.  — Win 31‑0 vs. Raiders
Week 15 was a dominant home performance as the Eagles shut out the Las Vegas Raiders 31‑0 to bounce back from the Week 14 loss. Jalen Hurts threw multiple touchdowns, Saquon Barkley got into the end zone, and Philadelphia’s run game controlled the clock. The defense pitched a shutout, flexing its ability to limit explosive plays. That convincing win evened the Eagles’ record at 9‑5 and steadied their divisional title push.
