Why we Struggle with reading?
Imagine we are in the 1800s. Back then people loved books. Children and adults alike loved reading and authors were known as some of the most profound men in civilization. Libraries were full and kids sitting by candlelight to read a new book was not uncommon at all.
Now we fast-forward today where smartphones, high-speed-internet and endless entertainment rule the day. In all sorts of places from streets to doctors office's to airports we see everyone on a phone. It consumes our day and we don't mind a bit.
But in this futuristic age of technology books are thought as boring and useless, People struggle with reading on a consistent basis and reading does not interest them at all.
But today we will be finding the reason of why we Americans struggle with reading.
1. Technology
I have gone over this many times but the more were on a screen being fed endless-stimulation in the mind, the less we want to do something that requires concentration.
2. Shorter attention span.
People today have little patience always looking for the fastest transportation, job and internet. Sitting down and reading a book take full attention and patience and thta is harder to find today.
3. Our Brains Pattern
Our brains physically change with what we view and think about. It changes based off of what we consume mentally. If our brain is only fed fast-visual content then our brain will actually change to only want that. So if our brains have changed to this, reading a book becomes harder since its not fast, high-speed content.
Now we know why we struggle with reading so here are some tips to help you read more.
1. Start Small.
We don't have to pick a huge novel. Make something short and manageable.
2. Pick a book that your interested.

3. Find a reading spot.
Find somewhere cozy with your favorite drink and a quiet atmosphere and use that spot to read.

5. Bring a book with you.
Whether your on vacation to the doctors or wherever, grab a book and if the time comes, set the phone down and pick up a book. It will make you look more smart and respectable in public.

Sometimes you just have to say no to the flesh and simply just do it. No because you want to but because its good for you.
