What Killed America? (Introduction)

I want you to imagine it's 1945.

Just four years earlier, America was ambushed by Japan in Pearl Harbor. The Japanese intended the attack to intimidate the American people into fear and retreat.

Turns out you can't scare America out of a fight.

American men everywhere stepped up to the enemy that was threatening their country. Within one year of Pearl Harbor, over four million men went into the military, sacrificing their careers, families, and their lives. Japan unsuspectingly awakened a sleeping giant of rallying American people that would not back down from a fight.

America back then was filled with grit, bravery, and patriotism. They stood for their freedoms and their nation regardless of the consequences. These values shaped America and, really, the entire world. The wicked powers of Nazi Germany and imperial Japan were defeated while freedom remained.

What an epic time in American history. By 1945, the United States was a world superpower backed with a booming economy. They had just defeated the threat of evil and kept the American dream alive and growing.

What could go wrong?

Well....

Over the next couple of decades, America began changing. The nation that had once been devoted to God began drifting further and further from Him. Biblical values that had shaped homes, families, churches began fading as new generations of Americans set in. Christian principles slowly lost their influence in our nation, and little by little, America's morals were declining. A once righteous nation changed into something God would be greatly angered by.

Now in modern times, wickedness not only happens but is celebrated. Millions of innocent babies are murdered every year, and America calls it legal. Sodomy, immorality, and a sinful lifestyle are paraded in our culture. The morals that once shaped our nation have died, and in their stead, wickedness.

No one in 1945 could have imagined the evils that have taken place in the past eighty years.

But why has this moral decline happened?

In this new blog series, we are going to dive into the history of America, looking at the end of World War Two to the modern day. Throughout this study, we will examine the moral and cultural failures that have given us the wicked society we live in today. We will look into what shaped the moral decay of the past eighty years and find out,

what

killed

America.
