What Every Young Man Should Know

Today, I have a list of things every young man should do.

1. Have Daily Devotions.
Make sure you are consistently reading your Bible and praying every morning.  Set an alarm and make it a habit and keep that time reserved between you and God.

2. Listen to more preaching.
Just because it is a week-day doesn't mean you can't listen to more preaching. If you find yourself with some free-time, put in the effort and listen to preaching.

3. Work Hard
In whatever task your given, learn to work hard. No wife or employer wants a lazy husband. Don't be afraid of work, love it!

4. Prioritize Purity
Especially in today's world, it is difficult to be pure as a guy. But it has to be a priority. Make the pledge that David made in the Bible. I will set no wicked thing before mine eye.

5. Treat your mom and sisters with honor and respect.
I have often heard that how you treat your mom and sisters is how you will treat your wifeNever belittle your mom or disrespect her in any way. Give compliments often to your sisters and don't be afraid to give your mom a hug and say I love you.

6. Read Godly Books.
READ BOOKS! This is something invaluable to have. And don't give the excuse of I don't read. Simply put down the screen, sit down and open up a book.

7. Spend more time outside
Don't always be cooped up inside. Get out sometime and do manly stuff. Build a fort, or mow the lawn, or ride a bike. Stop being a sissy and get some good-old fashioned fresh air!

8. Learn Basic Car Repair.
Every young man should know how to check the oil, change a tire and wash the car. Next time your Dad works on the car, sit with him and learn.

9Have a Budget
Learn how to save money and be a good steward with money. I was able to take a Dave Ramsey class on finance and I would highly recommend it. But don't just waste money on random things.

10. Be Athletic
Now I'm not saying you have to be super fit but you should, as a guy be able to do some athletic activity. Learn how to throw a football and dribble a basketball. Be familiar with sports and know how to do them.

11. Be involved in church ministries.
Find something in the church that you can be apart of and help out your church!

12. Limit your screen time.
Do not be one of those guys that are always on a screen. Make it important to limit your time every week and stick to it.

13. Be a gentlemen
Always make sure to hold the door open for ladies and stand up when an older person shakes your hand. Learn proper manners that will set you apart as a gentlemen from others.
