The Call to Preach.

At the age of 8, I surrendered to preach. It was on a Sunday when I told everyone. The Lord had been putting a desire and a thought of preaching on my heart and I knew that is what the Lord wanted me to do. So in 2018, I preached my first message. Today, I want to look at what the Bible says about the call to preach.

1. The call is from God
The call to preach is a serious call. It is something that is given by God. 

Jeremiah 1:5“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

2. The call can be a burden.
God in many cases has placed a burden in men's hearts to preach. 

We see from this passage that Paul had a burden that felt like a necessity.

For necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
— 1 Corinthians 9:16

Sometimes that desire and burden is the call. I have heard of many missionaries that got a burden to reach a certain country and a desire to give those people the gospel.

That burden could be the call. But we must take that burden or desire to the Lord to see if thats what the Lord wants.

3. The call could be the need.

  1. Romans 10:14

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

The need for preachers can be a call.

Jack Trieber who has a thriving church said he was never "called" but rather their was a need and he fulfilled that and preached.

John Wilkerson who also pastors a thriving church said he wasn't called like in the traditional sense but had a burden in his heart to be a preacher.

But they both had that desire from God and God was able to use that to call them.

Now just because we have a burden doesn't mean were called. Their have been times at mission conferences where  I had a burden for a foreign country but wasn't called to go there.

 Luke 10:2

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

It's time some young men realize that doing the Lord's work is more important that some secular job. There are churches that so need a pastor or a youth pastor. Souls in need of a Savior.

And yet young men who are raised in Godly homes under Godly preaching forsake the need of laborers to go pursue money. And their excuse not to serve God is that they don't feel called.

Will you answer the call God has given us as Christians?

Proverbs 23:4-5

“Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings...”

Why not  spend your life serving God. Whether preacher or not, we are all called to serve God with our lives!

Joshua 24:15

“...choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served... but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”


4. The call is a great calling 

I believe that being a preacher is the highest calling God can give and I feel unworthy at times. It is  truly a privilege to do what God wants for me to do in being a preacher.

For earthly things will fade away.

No need to add to worldly riches.

I only seek eternal gain.

This Week!!! ( July 4th-12th)

It has been a really good week for me. For July 4th, our church had an activity with ice cream and some really good fireworks. I'm so thankful for our nation!!! Me and my mom were able to sell the last of our spring goats on Sunday! The Goat in the pic is Aurora. She is really pretty but I'm glad she is going to a new home. I have also been doing a bunch of work with my rabbit pens and scheduling out breeding which will start the end of August! My sister Callie recently started an Etsy shop selling unique earrings.  The ducks below are glow in the dark. We had our Good News at the Park today. it went really well and 58 from our church volunteered. I was also to help lead 2 teen guys to the lord as well with a friend. It is always a blessing to hear someone pray and accept Jesus into their heart! What I have Learned from the Rabbit Business.

If you don't know already, I love breeding and selling rabbits. It has been super fun and in today's post, I will be talking about some of the things I have learned from the rabbit business! 1. Pick the breed If you plan on breeding, raising, and selling rabbits, you first start off by picking which breed you want. Do loads of research to find the breed that best's fit your area, cage space and colors. I chose Holland lops. They are relatively smaller and are the most docile rabbit breed out there. There is a good market in North Florida and they work for my set-up. 2. Buy Supplies Next go to your local Rural King and buy all the rabbit supplies. You want to find a bag of grain, timothy hay and a pet water bottle. Also think about buying food dishes, brush, and treats. You can find cages on Facebook Marketplace or just buy a wire cage at the store. I have connected wire cages that are hanged from the roof using heavy-duty wire.
