The Reality of Life...

The other day, I was in the car waiting for my Mom and sister to finish their errand. I looked around and saw lots of people. I saw a homeless man in terrible clothes sitting on a bench sucking his vape. I saw a older woman walk into a furniture store with her husband. I saw another man walking down the street completely glued to his phone.
Everybody in this world has a purpose given by God. A wonderful unique purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

And yet so many people disregard God's purpose for their lives and pursue fleshly things. Whether money or sin or fame, everybody is seeking out a purpose. Even as Christians, we waste time on things that don't matter. We waste time having "me-time" and being so busy. But when I think about the reality of life, That's not my purpose. The reality of Life is that we should spend it serving and glorifying God.

The reality of my life is that the most important thing is serving God wholly.

A God, who loves me and died for me and created me.

And yet I look back upon yesterday and the week before and in shame, think about all the things I did that wasted my time or displeased God.

The reality is that God did not put us on this earth to be political guru's. He didn't create us to be a sport fanatic or a social media star.

He didn't create us to be super knowledgeable on the latest movie stars. He didn't create us to live for fame in the world. Not to be an expert video-gamer.

He created us so we could live for him!

And sadly, we have placed so many things in our utmost attention but when it comes to Godly things, they get the leftovers of our time.

Imagine Jesus tomorrow morning ready to talk to you and to listen to everything you have to say. He wants to hear your troubles and sorrows, your interests and hobbies. He desires to be with you. But yet he can't because your sleeping in, or you rush around for work and skip out on devotions. Or worst of all, you just don't want too. I couldn't imagine how that would make Jesus feel.

And yet we call ourselves Christians but yet Christ is at the bottom of our priorities.

My challenge today is to seriously ponder the reality of life. Its as quick as a vapor.

So how are you going to use it?

Remember, you have 1 shot at serving Jesus!

1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV)

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
